«Una luz en el cielo»: el Pentágono publica nuevos archivos sobre ovnis y afirma que el público puede sacar sus propias conclusiones
El Pentágono ha comenzado a publicar nuevos archivos sobre ovnis, afirmando que los ciudadanos pueden sacar sus propias conclusiones sobre los «unidentified anomalous phenomena» (fenómenos anómalos no identificados), como un objeto que, según un piloto de drones, emitió una luz brillante en el cielo y luego desapareció.
En una publicación en X el viernes, se señaló que mientras administraciones pasadas buscaron desacreditar o disuadir al pueblo estadounidense, el presidente Donald Trump «está enfocado en brindar la máxima transparencia al público, quienes en última instancia pueden tomar sus propias decisiones sobre la información contenida en estos archivos». Un sitio web recién inaugurado que alberga los documentos sobre fenómenos anómalos no identificados, o UAP, tiene un aire decididamente retro, con imágenes militares en blanco y negro de objetos voladores mostradas de forma prominente en la página, junto con declaraciones presentadas en una fuente tipo máquina de escribir.
La primera entrega incluye 162 archivos, como antiguos cables del Departamento de Estado, documentos del FBI y transcripciones de la NASA de vuelos espaciales tripulados.
Un documento detalla una entrevista del FBI con alguien identificado como un piloto de drones quien, en septiembre de 2023, informó haber visto un «linear object» (objeto lineal) con una luz lo suficientemente brillante como para «see bands within the light» (ver franjas dentro de la luz) en el cielo.
«El objeto fue visible de cinco a diez segundos y luego la luz se apagó y el objeto desapareció», según la entrevista del FBI.

Former special counsel Jack Smith unleashed on the Department of Justice in an unusually fiery speech to a few hundred people during a private event, accusing the department of being «corrupted» and targeting President Donald Trump’s enemies.
Smith’s remarks, given during a private dinner in D.C. in April and reported by the New York Times this week, zeroed in on the DOJ’s decisions to investigate and prosecute some of Trump’s top political rivals, such as former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James. The former special counsel accused the department of weaponizing its authority, the very same accusation that Republicans have widely leveled at Smith for bringing two criminal cases against Trump during the Biden administration.
«We have a Department of Justice today that targets people for criminal prosecution simply because the president doesn’t like them,» Smith said.

A DOJ spokesperson told Fox News Digital the department expected «nothing less from Jack Smith whose sole mission was to politically prosecute a former president in an attempt to stop him from assuming office again.»
«This DOJ has ended the weaponization perpetrated by the Biden Administration and will continue to ensure no one is above the law,» the spokesperson said.
Smith brought indictments against Trump alleging he illegally attempted to overturn the 2020 election and that he retained classified national defense information. Smith faced significant hurdles in the election case, while the classified documents case was tossed out by Judge Aileen Cannon, a Trump appointee, who said he was unlawfully appointed as special counsel. Smith’s office was appealing Cannon’s ruling when Trump won the 2024 election. Weeks later, Smith moved to dismiss both federal cases, citing the Justice Department’s longstanding policy against prosecuting a sitting president.
Trump raged at Smith repeatedly, calling him a corrupt «thug» who belonged in jail. In January, Trump said on Truth Social that Smith was a «deranged animal» who should lose his law license. Smith is a longtime attorney who prosecuted war crimes in the Hague and led the DOJ’s Public Integrity Section during the Obama administration.

Trump said he hoped the DOJ was investigating Smith, «including some of the crooked and corrupt witnesses that he was attempting to use in his case against me. The whole thing was a Democrat SCAM — A big price should be paid by them for what they have put our Country through!»
The president’s remarks directly clash with Smith’s rare, heated commentary at the private event, as both accuse the other of weaponization and as Smith faces threats of federal prosecution for targeting Trump, despite the DOJ and congressional investigators yet to uncover criminal wrongdoing by Smith.

Smith said the DOJ has «been corrupted» over the past year but that he believed the department would «ultimately come through this better.»
Smith also accused the DOJ of turning a blind eye to cases that might reveal «inconvenient» facts that would contradict «narratives the president would like to press.»
Smith praised career prosecutors, saying a «central component» of the current DOJ’s strategy was to punish those like the several Minnesota attorneys who resigned in protest over internal disputes with how to handle an investigation into an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent killing Renee Good, a 37-year-old anti-ICE activist.
«To erode the rule of law in this country you need to attack these people, and that is what we have seen since January 2025,» Smith said.

Smith’s comments were not all negative, however, according to the New York Times. He praised the DOJ for being more vocal than it was under Biden, a comment that comes as Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, who replaced Pam Bondi a month ago, has taken on an aggressive, proactive media strategy. Blanche has held a series of press conferences where he has taken rounds of off-topic questions while also doing numerous wide-ranging interviews with friendly and tough media outlets.
A Smith representative had no comment. Fox News Digital reached out to the White House for comment.

El Gobierno de Estados Unidos sorprendió al mundo este viernes al anunciar la desclasificación de 162 archivos secretos sobre Fenómenos Anómalos No Identificados (UAP), conocidos popularmente como ovnis.
La medida, impulsada por el presidente Donald Trump, busca dar transparencia a décadas de especulaciones y teorías sobre encuentros con objetos voladores no identificados y posibles formas de vida más allá de la Tierra.
Según el comunicado oficial, los documentos ya pueden consultarse en la página oficial war.gov/ufo, donde la administración estadounidense prometió que irá sumando nuevos archivos de manera continua. El catálogo incluye fotos, documentos y videos que hasta ahora permanecían bajo estricta clasificación.
Qué agencias participaron y qué se puede encontrar en los archivos
La desclasificación involucra a la Casa Blanca, la Oficina del Director de Inteligencia Nacional (ODNI), el Departamento de Energía (DOE), la Oficina de Resolución de Anomalías en Todos los Dominios (AARO) del Departamento de Guerra —creada en 2022—, la NASA, el FBI y otras agencias de inteligencia.
El secretario de Guerra, Pete Hegseth, sostuvo: “Estos archivos, ocultos tras clasificaciones, han alimentado durante mucho tiempo especulaciones justificadas y es hora de que el pueblo estadounidense lo vea por sí mismo”.

Por su parte, el administrador de la NASA, Jared Isaacman, celebró la iniciativa y defendió el trabajo de la agencia en “la exploración y la búsqueda del conocimiento” para desvelar los secretos del universo.
La afirmación de un astronauta del Apolo 17
Entre el conjunto de archivos desclasificados se encuentra una transcripción de una conversación entre astronautas del Apolo 17 que detallaba unos misteriosos fragmentos brillantes que flotaban cerca de su nave espacial durante su misión en 1972.

“Ahora tenemos algunas partículas o fragmentos muy brillantes, o algo parecido, que pasan flotando mientras maniobramos”, dijo un operador al control de la misión.
Otro respondió: “Hay un montón de luces grandes en mi ventana de abajo, son muy brillantes. Desde la ventana de Ron parece el 4 de julio”.
Un documento resume las declaraciones de siete agentes federales asignados a diferentes equipos que informaron de forma independiente haber presenciado múltiples fenómenos aéreos no identificados en el oeste de Estados Unidos durante dos días en 2023.
Según el informe, varios testigos describieron haber visto “orbes que lanzaban otros orbes” a lo lejos, junto con una gran esfera brillante que flotaba en el aire y un objeto semitransparente comparado con una “cometa translúcida”.
Muchos de los documentos incluyen testimonios de personal militar, entre ellos un informe fechado el 1 de enero de 2026.
El archivo detallaba que un operador militar estadounidense supuestamente avistó un UAP volando justo por encima de la superficie del mar en Grecia antes de realizar varios giros bruscos de 90 grados a una velocidad estimada de 130 km/h.

El trasfondo político y el cruce entre Trump y Obama
La decisión de liberar estos documentos llegó después de que, en febrero, Trump anticipara el proceso de desclasificación tras un comentario del expresidente Barack Obama en el pódcast del periodista Brian Tyler Cohen.
Allí, Obama respondió preguntas sobre vida extraterrestre y negó la existencia de instalaciones secretas bajo tierra, aunque admitió sobre extraterrestres: “Son reales, pero yo no los he visto”.
Trump reaccionó de inmediato y acusó a Obama de revelar “información clasificada” y cometer un “grave error”. Más tarde, Obama aclaró que durante su presidencia no tuvo “pruebas” de contactos con extraterrestres, pero no descartó la posibilidad de vida fuera del planeta.
El Área 51 y el largo historial de secretos
En 2013, la CIA ya había desclasificado documentos que confirmaban la existencia de la base militar Área 51, creada en los años 50 para pruebas del avión espía U-2.

Republicans erupted in euphoria and mockery after the Virginia Supreme Court issued an earthshattering rebuke of Democrats’ hasty efforts to draw out all but one Republican from the Old Dominion’s congressional delegation — with the case’s lead plaintiff telling Fox News Digital the decision vindicated critics of the plan.
The Virginia Supreme Court ruled 4-3 to invalidate Democrats’ major redistricting effort, as Justice D. Arthur Kelsey specifically called out Attorney General Jay Jones and said the Democratic-led legislature’s failure to properly follow state law in its timeline for the redistricting amendment — including an «intervening election» clause — was the reason, not politics or which side won April’s popular vote.
Celebration erupted almost immediately as Republicans and «Vote NO» proponents mocked the alleged «gerrymander’s» proverbial architect, Senate President Pro Tem Lillie Louise Lucas, D-Portsmouth, whose office and cannabis dispensary were raided by the FBI earlier this week.
Former Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, a Republican who, along with former AG Jason Miyares, led the charge against the redistricting, celebrated in a tweetstorm of analysis within moments of the decision.

Cuccinelli mocked Lucas, who often launched profane attacks on redistricting critics like Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and depicted Virginia’s GOP delegation as future McDonald’s workers or people being pulled away from potential chairmanships.

«The court explains its decision not to intervene prior to the referendum, and quotes the exchange with Justice Russell at the beginning of oral argument about the outcome (i.e., «yes» winning by 3 pts) in which [Jones’] lawyer conceded the outcome doesn’t matter,» Cuccinelli added in one of several tweets.
Virginia Senate Minority Leader Ryan McDougle, R-Hanover, the main plaintiff in the case, told Fox News Digital that the entire state should be applauding the court.
«The Supreme Court ruling today affirms what we all know: you cannot violate the Constitution to change the Constitution,» McDougle told Fox News Digital.
«The Justices of the Supreme Court of Virginia after careful and thorough review of this matter affirmed that even the General Assembly must follow the law. This ruling is not a partisan one — it is a constitutional one. The rule of law is the foundation of our Commonwealth, and today it has been upheld.»

McDougle’s lower-chamber counterpart — House Minority Leader Terry Kilgore of Gate City — added that «you cannot violate the [state] Constitution to amend the Constitution.»
«Today’s ruling establishes once again that the Constitution of Virginia means what it says. The rule of law requires that Virginians have an opportunity to review a constitutional amendment before they vote for the House of Delegates in a meaningful way,» Kilgore told Fox News Digital.
Rep. Ben Cline of Botetourt, one of the Republican congressmen poised to be drawn out of his seat by the new map, called the court’s ruling «the correct decision.»
«It was always going to end up this way,» Cline said.
«Democrats broke laws that they helped write in the first place, blew through deadlines, wrote a biased and misleading ballot question, and lied to the voters in all of their advertising to support the referendum,» Cline said.
The lawmaker said voters previously banned «gerrymandering» in their decision in 2020 to create an independent commission to draw maps decennially.
«This is a great day for fair elections and the rule of law, and it’s a great day for the Commonwealth of Virginia.»
Other observers noted Kelsey is an appointee of Democratic Sen. Mark Warner, a former governor who backed the redistricting.

Former Gov. Glenn Youngkin added that «justice has been served» and that Gov. Abigail Spanberger, Lucas and others «knowingly violated our constitution to disenfranchise millions of Virginians.»
«The Constitution prevailed, and Virginians will never forget this unlawful attempt to rob them of their voice in Congress.»
Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts called the ruling a major victory for the rule of law and characterized the failed gerrymander attempt as «Governor Spanberger’s blatant power grab to silence the voices of half of Virginians in Congress.»
Sen. Timothy Kaine, D-Va., however, was not celebratory.
The onetime governor blasted the court, saying that unlike Republican-led states using «backroom deals» to redraw maps, Richmond took its plan directly to voters.
«[T]he Virginia Supreme Court has blocked the people’s choice. So we have to campaign and win on their maps. We can do it,» he said.

It remains to be seen whether or what avenues exist for Democrats to seek relief from the U.S. Supreme Court.
