FBI snares an American heir indicted for allegedly bankrolling anti-cop, pro-Hamas communist revolution

The Justice Department and FBI have a new communist financier in their crosshairs for alleged financial crimes: James «Fergie» Cox Chambers Jr., the estranged bad-boy heir to the Cox cable empire.
On Friday, Spanish police detained Chambers on the luxury island of Ibiza, in response to an international arrest warrant, according to sources. Chambers is allegedly wanted for money laundering and providing support to Hamas, following years of financing anti-Israel and anti-West organizations and protests. The transnational network he helped fund and support is kicking in to cast him as a victim of the Trump administration’s «fascism,» while critics are cheering the arrest as long overdue.
A spokesman for Spain’s Balearic Islands police branch, which includes Ibiza in its jurisdiction, told Fox News Digital that a U.S. citizen was arrested on charges tied to an international arrest warrant Friday under an international arrest warrant seeking his extradition to the United States. The spokesman did not confirm the identity of the citizen, but sources told Fox News Digital that the individual is Chambers.

FBI SAYS NEW MISSION CENTER HAS IDENTIFIED ‘NEFARIOUS’ PROTEST FUNDING AND SUBJECTS
The police spokesman added that the individual is being held at the central jail in Ibiza pending a judicial decision that will be conducted by videoconference. Supporters now plan a «Free Fergie Chambers» protest on Tuesday at 7 p.m. outside the prison in Ibiza, demonstrating against «DEL FASCISMO DE TRUMP,» or the «TRUMP’S FASCISM IN PERSECUTING DEFENDERS OF THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE.»
A spokesperson for the FBI declined to comment. Chambers and his representatives couldn’t be reached for comment.
A convert to Islam, Chambers represents the fusion of socialist and communist activists with Islamist interests that seek the destruction of the West, free enterprise and the state of Israel and the rise of political Islam, communism and a new Palestinian state.

Chambers’ ideological comrades leaked news of the detention to trusted colleagues on far-left media platforms – some of which Chambers funds – and his communist, socialist and Islamist comrades are flooding social media to frame the narrative around the arrest as the Trump administration unfairly targeting Chambers.
The arrest is a significant move by the Trump administration as it targets far-left financiers allegedly engaged in supporting political violence. In this case, as in other investigations, federal authorities are following the money and investigating potential tax and financial crimes.
FBI Co-Deputy Director Chris Raia recently told Fox News Digital that investigators at the FBI’s Joint Mission Center have identified subjects tied to financing violent protest activity and have been building prosecutable cases.

Like Neville Roy Singham, the American tech tycoon accused of financing communist and far-left nonprofit organizations from his base in Shanghai, China, Chambers has made a name for himself as a financial backer of anti-Israel and anti-American causes around the world. As reported exclusively at Fox News Digital, the Justice Department has launched a grand jury investigation into Singham for alleged money laundering and other financial improprieties. It is currently prosecuting the Southern Poverty Law Center for alleged money laundering, bank fraud and wire fraud.

Chambers was born in 1985 in Brooklyn as James Cox Chambers Jr. to his father, James Cox Chambers, and mother, actress Lauren Hamilton. He is the great-grandson of James M. Cox, a former Ohio governor, 1920 Democratic presidential nominee and founder of the media company that became Cox Enterprises. Forbes estimates the Cox family empire is worth about $27 billion.
Chambers is now the estranged heir of Cox Enterprises, walking away from the family company in 2023 with a payout estimated at about $250 million after a falling out with his family over the company’s support for Atlanta’s controversial public safety training center, known by critics as «Cop City.» In April, a grand jury indicted three alleged Antifa-linked protesters accused of throwing firebombs at the general contractor of the Atlanta police training center.

Chambers openly redirected his fortune into communist collectives, bail and legal underwriting and groups engaged in hard-edged protest and property disruption.
Raised mostly in Brooklyn after his parents divorced, Chambers attended Saint Ann’s School and later enrolled at Bard College but didn’t graduate. He briefly worked for a Cox Enterprises subsidiary before operating gyms in Georgia and later became increasingly involved in left-wing activism following the anti-police protests in Ferguson, Mo., in 2014 and the demonstrations in Standing Rock, S.D., in 2016 against an oil pipeline.
Around 2019, Chambers established the «Berkshire Communists» collective in Alford, Mass., in a wealthy corner of western Massachusetts, where he built a commune, operated the Berkshire People’s Gym and launched a publication called «Combat Liberalism.»

Following the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas terrorist attacks, Chambers became one of the most prominent financial backers of «Palestine Action,» later renamed «Unity of Fields,» while also funding legal defense efforts for activists involved in anti-Israel demonstrations and direct-action campaigns in the United Kingdom and the U.S.
He praised the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks as a «moment of hope and inspiration,» told Mother Jones that «the most important thing for the prosperity of humanity is the destruction of the US» and said, «I chant death to America every day.»
Local and national reporting place him behind the «Stop Cop City» opposition, bail after occupations and protests against Elbit Systems, a company that provides services to Israel, in Merrimack, N.H., and the U.K., and ongoing legal support for networks in the U.S. and U.K. led by the controversial «Palestine Action.»

After Alford, Mass., shut his Berkshire People’s Gym for zoning violations and law-enforcement scrutiny intensified, Chambers relocated to Tunis, in the North African nation of Tunisia.
In early February 2024, Chambers was photographed in his newly adopted city of Tunis in the North African nation of Tunisia, framing his narrative as a pious Muslim convert, with a red-and-white Palestinian kefiyyeh scarf draped over his shoulders, a black Muslim prayer cap on his head and a small beard on his face, a tradition that follows the sunnah, or practice, of Muhammad, the prophet of Islam.
The photo shoot included images of Chambers in Muslim prayer, at one point with his hands on his chest and at another point in «ruku» position, bent forward with his hands on his knees, staring at a point of concentration in front of him. In other shots, he walked by a local mosque, sat behind the wheel of a car with orange and green Muslim prayer beads, called «tazbi,» hanging on the rearview mirror. A pair of decorative boxing gloves with «RUSSIA» across the wrists, positioned on a red-and-white kefiyyeh spread along the dashboard.

Unconventional for traditional Muslims, who don’t often have dogs as pets because of a fundamentalist interpretation of Islam that bars dogs as pets in the home, Chambers also was photographed smoking a cigarette and walking on the beach with two small dogs who look like bulldogs. He also wore tattoos, including a sickle-and-barbells on his left hand.
By May 2026, his social media posts placed him in Ireland. This month, the self-declared communist vacationed among the wealthy in Ibiza, is now sitting in prison.

El papa León XIV confirmó que visitará la Argentina del 8 al 11 de noviembre, en una histórica gira. La noticia la anunció la Santa Sede, que la difundió luego de una fuerte expectativa tras el anuncio de su viaje a Perú, del 11 al 17 de noviembre.
León XIV realizará un Viaje Apostólico a Uruguay, Argentina y Perú del 6 al 17 de noviembre. El jefe de la Iglesia Católica aceptó la invitación de los respectivos Jefes de Estado y de las Autoridades eclesiásticas de esos países.
El papa visitará Montevideo, Paysandú y Florida del 6 al 8 de noviembre; Buenos Aires, Córdoba y Luján del 8 al 11 de noviembre; y Lima, Chiclayo, Cuzco y Pucallpa del 11 al 17 de noviembre. Todavía se mantiene en reserva el programa del viaje, que desde la Iglesia aclararon que “se dará a conocer a su debido tiempo”.

Hoy recibimos con enorme alegría la confirmación de esa Visita Apostólica. El Papa León visitará Argentina del 8 al 11 de Noviembre. Continuaremos trabajando junto a la Santa Sede para que sea una visita histórica para todos los argentinos”.
El viaje a Perú
Días atrás el presidente interino de Perú, José María Balcázar, había anunciado que León XIV, que tiene nacionalidad peruana, llegaría al país en la primera quincena de noviembre en una visita que duraría al menos ocho días.
“En la primera quincena de noviembre estará en Perú, llega a Lima” y luego irá a otras ciudades entre las que figura Chiclayo, donde el papa ejerció como obispo, declaró el presidente peruano a la radio RPP.
La visita del sumo pontífice está en preparación “y se está hablando de ocho a diez días de duración”, agregó el gobernante.
El papa León XIV nació en Chicago, Estados Unidos, pero se nacionalizó peruano en 2015. Robert Francis Prevost trabajó durante más de 20 años en ese país como misionero y obispo de Chiclayo.
Perú, con 34 millones de habitantes, es uno de los países más católicos de la región. Más del 80% de su población practica esa religión. Ha sido visitado por los papas Juan Pablo II (1985 y 1988) y Francisco (2018).
Entusiasmo de Milei por el viaje del papá
El presidente Javier Milei se venía mostrando muy entusiasmado con la posibilidad de que el papa León XIV visite el país, algo que no lograron ni Cristina Kirchner, ni Mauricio Macri, ni Alberto Fernández con el papa Francisco.
En perfecta sintonía con su jefe, el canciller Pablo Quirno le entregó en mano al pontífice hace un par de meses la carta de invitación de rigor, trámite que bien podría haber cumplido el embajador ante la Santa Sede. Hasta escribió días pasados un insólito tuit en el que “anticipa”, simpáticamente, la supuesta concreción de la visita antes de fin de año, causando perplejidad en la Secretaría de Estado del Vaticano, que es la que anuncia los viajes papales.
Tanto entusiasmo no se corresponde con la enorme brecha de muchas de las posturas que enarbola el presidente con las del catolicismo en general y de los últimos papas en particular. Con solo mencionar sus diferencias con la Doctrina Social de la Iglesia —como buen libertario— alcanza, comenzando por su rechazo al concepto de justicia social (aunque tiene una coincidencia no menor en la condena al aborto). Diferencias que fueron más manifiestas durante el papado de Francisco por el perfil del argentino, que lo llevaron a calificarlo de “comunista”.

En los últimos meses, Milei sumó otra diferencia no menor: su posición respecto de la utilización de la inteligencia artificial (IA). Sobre todo, su oposición a la regulación de la IA, como lo expuso en un reciente artículo en el diario británico Financial Times, al expresar su deseo de que el país se convierta en un polo de innovación tecnológica con mínima intervención estatal. Allí manifiesta su “compromiso” de no regularla “para que pueda desarrollarse libremente, sin la mano mortal de una regulación prematura y mal comprendida”.
Su toma de posición —previsible— se produjo poco después de que el papa León XIV difundiera su primera encíclica, Magnifica Humanitas (Magnifica Humanidad), en la que ya en los primeros párrafos aboga por una regulación de la inteligencia artificial. “Es necesario adoptar instrumentos normativos adecuados, capaces de salvaguardar la justicia y de contener los efectos distorsionados del poder tecnológico”, afirma. No obstante, aclara que “la cuestión no se limita a la regulación”, sino a otros aspectos como la educación.
León XIV es claro en cuanto a los beneficios y los riesgos tecnológicos. “La tecnología puede curar, conectar, educar, cuidar la Casa Común, pero también puede dividir, descartar, generar nuevas injusticias. En abstracto, en sí misma, no es una solución a los problemas de la humanidad, como tampoco es en sí misma un mal, pero no es neutral, porque toma el rostro de quien la concibe, la financia, la regula, la utiliza”. En definitiva, celebra los avances, pero alerta ante el peligro de la deshumanización.

WATCH: Smithsonian director admits she sees history as ‘tool’ of ‘social justice’ after explosive hearing

After an explosive series of congressional hearings on alleged woke «ideological capture» at the Smithsonian, a resurfaced video of a presentation by National Museum of American History Director Anthea Hartig shows her calling «history as a practice» a «prime tool of social justice.»
In a series of July hearings on Capitol Hill, Hartig defended the Smithsonian’s record of objectivity and nonpartisanship. However, in a resurfaced presentation to University of California, Los Angeles students in February 2025, Hartig described «a number of ways in which your National Museum of American History is taking an equity-based, justice forward, community driven and necessarily humble approach to public history and to service.»
Later in her presentation, Hartig asserted that the «United States’ long and violent racial history continues to be present in our reckoning, if you will.»
She said that «redress in the form of reparation, of course, goes beyond acknowledgement of wrongdoing; it should leverage responsibility, it should think about the act of correction, as we pursue restorative justice and, for us [on the call], restorative justice through history.»

During her testimony on Capitol Hill last month, Hartig stated: «Our work is governed by the Smithsonian standards of scholarship, accuracy, independence and nonpartisanship.» She said, «the museum does not take sides in America’s political debates,» but instead, «We preserve and document the evidence of American life in all of its breadth, so that the public can encounter the past and draw their own conclusions.»
However, in her presentation to UCLA, she asserted that «history as a practice … is for me a prime tool of social justice.»
Hartig began her talk with a land acknowledgement and a slide showing a picture of an American flag defaced with words that appeared to read «Defund the Police.» Her caption said the photo was from a Black Lives Matter protest in Washington, D.C., in 2020. Another photo Hartig showed later in the presentation depicted a protester holding a sign that read, «America loving you is complicated.»
She remarked that the museum opened in 1964 as «this kind of Cold War, you know, ‘We’re going to be the best and most technologically advanced country in the nation and we’re going to show everyone how we did that’ … We clearly have moved away from that.»

Instead, Hartig highlighted what she called the museum’s «bold new vision» to become the «most accessible, inclusive, relevant, and sustainable public history institution in the country.» This, the vision states, will allow the museum to «serve an audience that reflects the full racial, class, gender, ethnic, and geographic demographics of the United States.»
To this end, Hartig said the museum «joined a very collaborative Smithsonian-wide collecting effort around Black Lives Matter … to document and preserve and share objects focused on Black Lives Matter to show the history of the movement starting in 2012.»
She shared a picture of protest signs outside the White House from the summer of 2020 and spoke highly of «these phenomenal, ephemeral statements, signs … expressing that kind of very heartfelt and incredibly poignant [message].»
Hartig also praised an anti-ICE organization called «Tsuru for Solidarity» as a «truly remarkable group,» highlighting its collaboration with the Black Lives Matter movement.
According to its website, Tsuru for Solidarity is a «nonviolent, direct action project of Japanese American social justice advocates and allies working to end detention sites and support directly impacted immigrant and refugee communities that are being targeted by racist, inhumane immigration policies.» Its website also states, «We stand on the moral authority of Japanese Americans who suffered the atrocities and legacy of U.S. concentration camps during WWII and we say, ‘Stop Repeating History!’»

Besides the Black Lives Matter initiative, Hartig said the museum is pursuing a «proactive multilingual strategy to support language justice.»
She explained that «the idea, of course, [is] that everyone has the right to communicate in the language in which they feel most comfortable to be understood and to understand.»
To this end, she said that since the fall of 2019, «all exhibitions and signage and digital projects will be at least bilingual in English and Spanish and a number of them in more languages depending on the project and communities of origin.»
Hartig asserted, «We’re under attack for speaking complicated truths» and urged students to «raise your voices and speak them together.»
She said, «It continues to grow resolute in my mind, [history] is the key that unlocks the mysteries of humanity, of meaning, of place, of conquest, of love, power, authority and self.»
